Tuesday, November 4th National Presidential Election and State General Election Recommendations

President & Vice President of the United States

State Ballot Propositions:

  1. NO.  High Speed Rail - everyone expects cost to grow to well over $10B.  Tax increases to pay for it will result in far more significant decrease in jobs across California far outweighing jobs to create rail system, much of which would be developed outside California.
  2. NO.  Condominiums for Chickens.  Nutty over-regulation of agriculture resulting in higher food prices.
  3. NO.  Tax Payer funded business give away under the guise of helping Childrens' Hospitals widely criticized by all
  4. YES.  Parental notification required prior to potential life threatening surgery to terminate pregnancies
  5. NO.   Non-violent Early Parole - opposed by every sheriff in the state
  6. YES.  Criminal Penalties Act- combats crime & gang activity in prisons
  7. NO.  Requires increased use of renewable energy faster than it can be developed - everyone says no to it!
  8. YES.  Protection of Marriage - defines marriage as between one man and one woman.  Does not impede civil unions or infringe on civil rights.
  9. YES.  Victim Rights & Parole - provides rights for victims to participate in sentencing & parole decisions.
  10. NO.  Alternative Fuels - spends $10B we don't have.
  11. YES.  Redistricting to make more competitive seats to make lawmakers more accountable to voters
  12. YES.  Veterans Housing Bond - is a self-funding measure that helps returning veterans

BCRC Key to LA County Topping National Volunteer Calls Made for McCain

10/7/2008

Los Angeles County clocked in last week with most volunteer voter contact calls in the nation for the McCain campaign and the Beach Cities Republican Club leadership and volunteers were instrumental to that sucess!  Thanks the Pete Kesterson's tireless hours organizing volunteers calling shifts, keeping volunteers informed on all the ways they can help, and leading the way at the headquarters, hundreds of BCRC volunteers and others across Los Angeles County made nearly 60,000 phone calls in one week.  You can help too - sign up with Pete for a shift any day or any evening.
